A 3D streetpainting is a painting made with soft pastels and with a unique perspective. It’s main goal is to trick us to believe we see something that is not really there. This is a classical technique that was already used by Leonardo da Vinci, and is know as Anamorphic. Basically it means that you can only see the painting from just one perspective. A different kind of technique applied, that is also meant to fool the eyes, is Trompe L’ oeil. This kind of technique however is mostly used for Murals. The largest 3D streetpainting in the world is of the anamorph kind.
The Mega 3D crew is a small group of streetpainters and other creatives from The Netherlands and Germany.
